The Korean Language Institute is an educational institution affiliated with Yonsei University, established on April 1, 1959, to teach the Korean language and culture to students, missionaries, diplomats, foreign professors, business people, and media personnel interested in studying Korea and to enhance understanding of Korea.
The faculty of the Korean Language Institute consists of outstanding experts who have received systematic training in Korean language teaching methods. With thier deep knowledge of the Korean language and extensive teaching experience, they guide students with careful attention to individual learning needs and abilities, offering tailored instruction. Our faculty not only ensures that students effectively learn Korean through efficient classroom management but also enhances student engagement and interest by utilizing various teaching techniques. Additionally, through diverse cultural activities and experiential programs, they help students naturally adapt to Korean society and culture. The dedicated and professional guidance of our faculty not only improves students' language proficiency but also lays the foundation for them to confidently adapt to life in Korea.
Currently, more than 160 excellent instructors teach approximately 2,300 students each semester, and as of the summer semester of 2024, a total of 159,862 students from 151 countries have studied at the Korean Language Institute.
