Academic Schedule (subject to change, Korean Standard Time)

• Applicants must have at least a high school diploma
• Required Documents
  1. A copy of passport
  2. A certificate of graduation from the last school attended or a certificate of employment (If the documents are not in English or Korean, a translated version is required)
  3. Application fee of 80,000 KRW
     ※ Documents uploaded to the online application must be in jpg or pdf format
     ※ Document review begins once the online document submission and application fee payment are confirmed.

• Tuition Fee: 907,000 KRW
  • Textbook fees are separate
  • If there is an increase in tuition fees, the difference must be paid additionally.
  • Bank fees incurred during remittance are the responsibility of the student, and if there is a difference due to exchange rates, it must be paid additionally
  • Refund Policy (based on the date of submission of the refund application form):
    (If requesting an international transfer, the amount excluding the transfer fee will be deposited.)

• Students enrolled in the evening course will take the placement test by online.
• If a class has less than five students, the class will be cancelled.
• Students registered at the Korean Language Institute must attend at least 80% of the total class hours to advance to the next level.
• If a student fails the same level twice, they will not be allowed to take further courses at Yonsei University Korean Language Institute.
• The exam, orientation, and classes will all be conducted online.
• Orientation will take place on the first day of class, and after the orientation, each class will proceed with real-time online lessons (via ZOOM).

• Understanding morsels of specialized writing related to humanities, society and arts and cultivating the ability to express one’s opinion logically.
• Understanding the news, newspaper articles and materials on current affairs and expressing one’s own opinion on them.
• Understanding Korean values related to language & education, career & leisure, pop culture, tradition, and family & society.

Level 7 (Textbook: Yonsei Korean in 3 Weeks 7)

• Understanding morsels of specialized writing related to humanities, society and arts and cultivating the ability to express one’s opinion logically.
• Understanding the news, newspaper articles and materials on current affairs and expressing one’s own opinion on them.
• Understanding Korean values related to language & education, career & leisure, pop culture, tradition, and family & society.

Level 8 (Textbook: Yonsei Korean in 3 Weeks 8)

• Freely applying Korean grammar and the ability to be do complicated and specialized activities.
• Expanding vocabulary and mastering Korean thought through specialized materials speak to Korean society and culture
• Cultivation of the language ability needed to participate in university lectures and activities.
