2026 Academic Schedule (Korean Standard time)

※Note: Due to limited capacity, registration may close early.

* Summer Special Program does NOT provide airport pickup service.

* Applicants must receive their admission and have their student ID number generated before the dormitory application date. Please ensure your application is submitted promptly.

• Eligibility: Those with high school diploma  or higher (no age limit)
                      * High school students who are expected to graduate by June 2026 can also apply.
• Required Documents
  1. A copy of your passport.
  2. A copy of final degree certificate (only in English or Korean; translations must be notarized if in another language).
     • For high school seniors graduating in June 2026: Official transcript with the expected graduation date
     • If the transcript does not indicate the graduation date, you must submit a document issued by the school administration certifying that the student is expected to graduate before June 2026. The document should include the school name, expected graduation date, student’s name, and the name and contact information of the responsible officer.

• The Summer Special Program doesn’t meet the student visa(D-4) requirement.
• The 5-week summer period can be covered by the K-ETA. Visa support for all type of visa is not available.

• 2026 Application Fee(non-refundable): 120,000 KRW 
• 2026 Tuition Fee: 1,540,000 KRW
• 2026 Insurance fee 40,000 KRW (non-refundable) must be paid with tuition fee  / Registration is not allowed if unpaid
• The total payment required for registration is 1,580,000 KRW
• 2026 Cultural Activity Fee(non-refundable): 35,000 KRW per session (Optional)
• 2026 Field Trip Fee(non-refundable): 160,000 KRW per session (Optional)
• Dormitory Fee: To be paid directly to the dormitory office once dormitory admission is confirmed.
  ※ Note: Bank transfers may incur transaction fees, resulting in less than the transferred amount being received.
  ※ Students are responsible for these fees, and any shortfall due to exchange rates must be paid in full within the registration period.

• Payment methods
  - Payment via Korean banks: Virtual account payment through Inicis (Pay in KRW)
  - Payment from overseas: Payment through Flywire (Pay in foreign currency)

• Refund Policy (based on the date of submission of the refund application form)

• Regardless of whether it is the day before the semester starts, application fees, afternoon special activities, and expenses for Korean cultural activities are non-refundable. Refund requests are applicable to tuition only.
• If requesting a refund to an overseas account, the bank fees will be excluded.
• In case where a class is canceled due to insufficient applicants, a full refund will be issued including application fee.

• Classes will be placed based on placement test result.
• If there are 5 or fewer students assigned in a class, a class will not be opened.
• Attendance of at least 80% (80 hours) of the total class time is required for certification.
• Grades are determined based on attendance, participation in class, quizzes, final exams, etc. However, the required attendance time for certification only includes Korean language classes.
• Summer special programs are equivalent to 3 credits. However, we recommend you to contact your home institution in advance regarding credit transfer.
• Certificate of Enrollment and official transcript can be issued upon request.

  • Student ID number for dormitory application is issued after tuition fee is paid.
  • Please make a payment in advance in order to apply to dormitory.
  • KLI studnet information is linked to Yonsei portal(Dormitory application website) once a day, and Yonsei portal login is available from the next day of student ID issuance.
• Dormitory Application Result Announcement: 14 April(Tue) 5pm
• Cost: 851,000 KRW

• Yonsei Korean Language Institute offers afternoon cultural activities for students participating in the Summer Special Program, providing opportunities to experience Korean culture. The Korean cooking practice classes will be held approximately 6 times over the course of 3 weeks(July 7th ~ July 22nd).
• The specific details and schedule will be provided during the orientation before the class starts.
• The afternoon cultural activities are available on an optional basis for those who have registered in advance and does not count toward the attendance hours required for course completion.
•  The content of afternoon cultural activities may be subject to change based on the KLI or instructor circumstances. 
• Application Period: Until April 24

[Cost]: 35,000 KRW per session

Students who have difficulty making payment via bank transfer may pay the total amount for all registered classes at once through Flywire.

Example: If you have registered for a total of 2 classes → you can make a one-time payment of 70,000 KRW on one class.

※ Note: Even if only one class is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, all registered classes will be canceled together. In addition, re-registration may be difficult due to full capacity or other reasons.

 ※ If the minimum number of participants is not met, the cooking class will be canceled.

 ※ Refunds are not possible for personal reasons, except in the case of insufficient participants.

 ※ You can only apply starting from the day after your student ID number has been created.

1. Korean Cooking Class

Students will learn about the background and characteristics of Korean cuisine, enhancing their understanding of Korean food culture. Through team-based practical activities, they will foster closer relationships with friends and be introduced to Korean food for the first time. The cooking practice will provide a lively and energetic afternoon, and they will be able to reminisce about the Korean dishes they have made when they return to their home country.

Students may sign up for the menu they want on the dates they prefer. They may register for just one menu or for all three menus.

Examples:

• July 7: Grilled marinated pork ribs , July 14: Royal Stir-fried Rice Cake, July 22: Dakgalbi with Vegetables  (O)

• July 7 & July 8: Grilled marinated pork ribs (X): Registering for the same dish more than once is not allowed.

[MENU & DATE]

*Kimchi and rice will be provided, and if there is any meat that cannot be consumed, it will be replaced with mushrooms and seafood.

Yonsei Korean Language Institute organizes a cultural exploration field trip for students in the Summer Special Program to experience Korean culture and history. The field trip takes place on a weekend day during the semester, departing at 8 a.m. and returning to the school around 6~7 p.m. The field trip is available only to those who register in advance and is not mandatory.

 Application Period: Until April 24

[Cost]: 160,000 KRW per session.

 ※ If the minimum number of participants is not met, the field trip will be canceled.

 ※ Refunds are not possible for personal reasons, except in the case of insufficient participants.

※ You can only apply starting from the day after your student ID number has been created.
